Families

Finding the right minder for your children can be a great challenge, not to mention time consuming and very often confusing. We are here to ensure that you find the best possible childcarer to suit your family's needs.

What we do for you:

As soon as you have contacted us, we can immediately start finding the right minder for you. To begin, we need as much information as possible so we get it right first time. This can be done over the phone, email or even in person, which ever suits you best. Complete our query form and we will contact you. We are also available evenings and weekends to discuss your requirements.

Once we know what you are looking for, we can start the search. We may have suitable candidates ready to be interviewed or we may need to advertise so that we find exactly the right person.

We then send you on details of suitable minders and you can choose who you would like to arrange interviews with. We interview all the candidates, check their references and have them Garda Vetted. We do advise all potential employers to also check references and speak with past employers.

Once you have made an offer of employment, we will help you with any further requirements such as contracts and payroll. We follow up with you and the minder several weeks after the position has commenced to make sure everything is going well. We also offer a 10 week 'settling in' period with your new minder.

Below is a detailed description of some of the types of minders available. If you require any further details, please feel free to contact us.

Nannies/Minders

Nannies usually work 4-5 days per week providing a stimulating, loving, nurturing environment in the family home. Duties include preparing children's meals, school/after school collections, children's laundry, tidying children's play areas and bedrooms, organising arts and crafts, baking and trips out with the children. Babysitting can be organised for evenings and weekends also. A typical nannies day is 8-6 Monday to Friday with the option of a live in/live out nanny.

Typical weekly salary €400-€600* gross

All our nannies have previous childcare experience and many hold relevant childcare qualifications.

Childminders

Our child minders provide a home away from home for children. They provide a childcare service in their own home and include your children in their day to day family life. Most of our childminders are stay at home mums with their own children and therefore have years of experience. Typical duties include providing a loving, nurturing home environment, do school/after school drop offs and collections, cook healthy, nutritious meals, organise play/ arts and crafts/ outdoor activities. A typical childminders day is Monday to Friday 8-6. Part time options are also available.

Typical weekly salary €200-€350*

We require all our minders to have completed a first aid course and are Garda vetted.

Nanny-Share

A nanny-share is when two families share one nanny. This works very well with families that live nearby each other, with relatives whose children are similar in age or families where their children attend the same schools. Many different options can be worked out to make sure the arrangment works well for both families such as splitting time spent in both homes.

Typical weekly salary €450-€550* gross

Junior Nannies/Minders Plus

These candidates provide almost the same service as our nannies but would be less experienced or perhaps studying childcare part time and looking to gain valuable experience. They are a good option for families with school going children who's schools and activities are within walking distance or to give a hand to stay at home mums.

Typical weekly salary €350-€450* gross

VIP Nannies

These are our super nannies! Our top candidates who have it all - qualifications, driving licenses, experience, can swim, ski, cook and many even have an extra language. These candidates are career nannies who usually live in with the families, travel regularly at a moments notice, look after the children and take over the running of the household if the parents need to travel. They are available to do longer hours, weekends and extra babysitting as part of their normal working week.

Typical weekly salary €550+* gross

Other types of nannies available are part time, temporary, weekend, nanny/pa, maternity cover and holiday cover. Please get in touch for further details.

Maternity Nurses/ Night Nannies

Maternity Nurse/ Night Nanny is a very experienced nanny who specialises in the care of New Born babies. A maternity nurse can be booked to come for several weeks after a baby is born to help both mother and baby settle in. Maternity nurses can work on a 12 or 24 hour shift and can be booked for one or two nights per week up to six nights per week until the baby is 3-4 months old. (Minimum booking 3 nights)

Typical duties include supporting breast feeding mothers throughout the night, sterilizing and preparing bottles, settling and winding baby after feeds, dressing the baby in the morning, give parents help and advice on settling baby into a routine. If the nanny is booked for a 24hour period they can also tend to baby's laundry during the day.

Typical Salary: 18-24 per hour depending on qualifications, experience and multiples

Au Pairs

Au pairs are a good option for those who require 20-30 hours babysitting a week.
An Au pair is a cultural exchange programme whereby a family host an Au Pair for approximately 6- 12 months. Au Pairs may have limited experience with children and no recognized qualifications but most have previous babysitting experience and have to provide two references. Therefore, we recommend Au Pairs as a good option for families with older, school going children who only require part time care in the afternoons. Au Pairs are also great for families who need extra help with younger children but should not be used as a full time childcare solution.
Au Pairs live with their host family and are provided with a separate bedroom, all meals and pocket money. In return, an Au Pair can babysit and do light housework for up to 30 hours max per week and should have enough time off to study a language course and experience the Irish culture.
The National Childcare Agency regrets to inform clients that we do not recruit Au Pairs. We are happy to discuss alternative options available to families or redirect you to agencies specifically working with Au Pairs

Babysitters

We provide a babysitting service for all our registered clients. Babysitters are usually a casual arrangement where childcare is needed on an irregular basis. Babysitters are available to mind your children at weekends, weekday evenings and often during the day. All our babysitters are a minimum of 18 years of age and are recruited locally. We give preference to candidates who are already working as nannies/ child carers and to those who are studying childcare at third level.

All our babysitters are required to have a first aid qualification and are Garda Vetted.

Childcare Staff

We recruit only the best candidates for our childcare staff to work in Crèches, Montessori schools and play schools. All our candidates have a qualification in childcare and experience in the childcare industry. We can provide full time, part time, temporary and holiday/maternity cover staff.
